Power-Packed Smoothie

Today’s homemade snack recipe is a Power-Packed Smoothie.

Smoothies are a great way to add lots of healthy nutrients into your kid’s diet. Most kids love them, so it’s the perfect place to pack in some extra nutrient-packed ingredients. Smoothies are also so versatile, as long as you have a few key ingredients, you can add whatever you have on hand and experiment with new combinations. These smoothies are packed with fruits & vegetables.

 What you’ll need:

  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced

  • 1 small banana

  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries

  • 1/2 cup nonfat yogurt

  • 1/4 cup orange juice

  • 1 cup spinach, stems removed

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender & blend until smooth

  2. Place a silly straw in & Enjoy!

This will make enough for 2 smoothies

Note: you can substitute Greek yogurt for extra protein and less sugar, but you will most likely have to increase the juice by a little since Greek yogurt is thicker.
